LVT: Beauty and Practicality

LVT is luxury vinyl tile cut into tile-sized pieces that are realistic mimics of tile, stone, or wood. This is not the vinyl you may remember from decades ago. Modern technology, with better printing and embossing, has made it evolve into one with more texture and depth.

Aside from looks, here’s the practical side of LVT. It is:

• Durable. In fact, it’s one of the most recommended materials for the kids’ bedroom, playroom, or if you have pets. It’s a layered product and there’s an ultra-tough clear wear layer on top; it protects it from scratches, dents, and other wear and tear. Stains are easily removed and, since it’s waterproof, you don’t need to worry about toppled pet water dishes or spilled liquids.
  
  LVT is great for high-traffic, busy rooms, like kitchens, baths, laundry rooms but make no mistake: It gives living, dining and bedrooms that stylish look so it’s just as appropriate for installation there.


• Easy to clean: All you need to do is sweep or vacuum. For a more thorough cleaning, mop with water and a manufacturer-approved soap.LVTdoesn’t need waxing or polishing like the vinyl flooring of the past, and some also have antimicrobial protection that guards against mold and mildew growth.


• Versatile in installment possibilities. Wood warps with excess water so it’s never recommended for the bathroom, laundry or below-grade areas, like the basement. Since this is waterproof, those worries are eliminated, and you can now get the look in those rooms.
